Katherine McCallum is an artist, a mother and a leading voice in the Yukon. For almost 20 years, she has devoted her creative energy to making the Territory a better place to live.

As the Executive Artistic Director of Larrikin Entertainment, Katherine has supported Yukoners in the arts, creating good jobs and compelling stories that reflect the experience of life in the North.

While new to electoral politics, Katherine’s work in the arts has often been political. She understands the role that politics plays in people's lives and how it can be a powerful force for change.

Katherine has also served the Yukon on non-profit boards including the Yukon Arts Centre, Yukon Theatre for Young People Society, and Yukon Music Camp Society. She also teaches theatre and works as an administrator at Yukon University.

Her priorities if elected are improving access to healthcare - expanding dental care, pharmacare and mental health supports, addressing the lack of affordable housing in the territory, and working to improve the education system.

Now, she is joining Jagmeet Singh and the Federal NDP to be a strong voice for Yukoners in Ottawa. As your MP, she will fight for working people, so every Yukoner has access to better healthcare, housing they can afford, and the quality education they deserve.

Katherine has lived in Whitehorse since 2006 and raised her two adult children there.
