Biography

submitted by the candidate or their team
With degrees in science and economics, I avoid political spin; I want evidence and results for our communities. I worked 15 years for international nonprofits, and the last 2 years as a municipal public servant. My husband, son and I in Hope River.

With a background in advocacy, I'm not going to be an MP that sits comfortably on the back bench collecting a salary; I'm going to stand up and push for better. I look for transformative solutions, rather than tinkering at the edges, whether addressing healthcare, housing, affordability, or climate challenges.

I look for global best practices, beyond what can often be a limited debate within and between Canada and the US. There are solutions to be found on other continents!

I run with the Greens because they are the party that best reflects her values, and also because they do not whip votes. I would always be free to be an independent voice for the constituency -- supporting the governing party when they're doing good things, and pushing them when they are falling short and need to do better.

My husband is a small-business owner in craft brewing, and we live with our energetic 9 year old boy in a rural farmhouse we've renovated DIY over the last 10 years. We'll be spotted in both summer (biking) and winter (cross country skiing) at Brookvale Provincial Park. You might even occasionally spot me stilt-walking in the Island's parades, or the River Clyde Pageant.

In my volunteer roles, I've applied my skills in strategic planning and governance with nonprofit boards both locally and nationally, including Fair Vote Canada, the PEI Greens, Bike Friendly Communities (BFC) PEI, and River Clyde Arts. This is my third election run, and my enthusiasm remains undiminished.

Please check out my website for policy priorities.

Reason for running

submitted by the candidate or their team
Because we've got to do better. I want to add fresh perspectives to the debate and push for bolder progress, particularly evidence-based climate action, for our kids.
