Biography
Félix Dionne is a determined entrepreneur and elected representative with deep roots in the riding of Shefford. Having grown up locally, he is well aware of the region’s challenges and opportunities and is actively committed to its development. As the owner of several restaurants in Granby, Roxton Pond and Saint-Césaire, he has contributed to the local economy and supported various charities, as well as numerous sports and cultural events.
Félix entered municipal politics in 2021 when he was elected as a councillor for Granby. Serving as chairman of the board of Commerce Tourisme Granby Région (CTGR), he is responsible for the development of commerce and tourism. He also sits on the housing, infrastructure, events and economic development committees, where he works to provide concrete solutions to the region’s major issues, including housing access, infrastructure improvement, and sports and business tourism growth. He also firmly believes in the need to protect and enhance the natural environments for which Shefford is renowned and which will ensure our future quality of life.
Before returning to the region, Félix obtained a bachelor’s degree in engineering and a diploma in business administration. He worked for just over ten years in the federal government, holding various strategic positions before reaching the senior executive level. His experience at Industry Canada and Global Affairs Canada has given him solid expertise in public policy, regulation and strategic management.
A father of two teenagers, Félix shares their energy and ambitions, supporting his son’s passion for karting and his daughter’s pursuit as a goalkeeper in both soccer and futsal. Passionate about innovation, he is interested in advancements in artificial intelligence, new technologies, and best practices in urban planning and public policy.
