Biography
A Chartered Industrial Designer by profession, Jay Sobel brings to federal politics 35 years of effective problem-solving and leadership experience acquired during domestic and international product development ventures in the telecommunications, defense, health care, and consumer product industries.
He is a conservative minded libertarian who values common sense and meritocracy.
Jay graduated “With Distinction” from the Faculty of Engineering at Carleton University in Ottawa, obtaining his degree in Industrial Design. He also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Biological Sciences from the University of Toronto.
As a collaborative member of cross-functional engineering and marketing teams, Jay’s creative efforts have produced numerous patented and award-winning products that have helped people world wide to communicate efficiently and effectively; to live safely and securely; to experience quality health care and recovery; and to enjoy safe and enjoyable recreational experiences. A proven innovator, Jay has earned 29 granted patents across the different market spaces he has worked for, and been recognized with 34 design related awards. He was even once awarded a Certificate of Recogniition from Toronto Fire Services for saving the life of a drowning man.
A consulting design professional, Jay demonstrates a life long record of commitment to public service as a design educator, volunteer coach, and community leader. He was active at the regional, intercollegiate, provincial, national and international levels in lacrosse as a player, referee, coach and team builder for 42 years.
The founding fundamental principles of Freedom, Responsibility, Fairness and Respect that guide the policies of the People’s Party of Canada have always resonated with Jay Sobel. Jay believes that it is the fundamental duty of elected officials to represent the charter rights, the needs and the concerns of their constituents with a moral compass and in an educated, dignified, respectful, transparent, fair and lawful manner. Under the Banner of the People’s Party of Canada, Jay will be allowed to exercise this privilege while advocating policies for a safe, secure, sovereign and prosperous nation.
Raised in Calgary during his childhood where his immigrant grandfather was a cattle trader, Jay and his family recently returned to the sunny skies of Alberta after spending nearly four decades working in industry and on behalf of design consultancies; and teaching Human Factors and Industrial Design to college students across Ontario. While a resident, Jay represented the PPC in the riding of Don Valley North during both the 2019 and 2021 federal election campaigns.
Jay recognizes parallels between working within a diverse product development team and being accountable for tabling the needs and concerns of the intended "end-users" of products conceived during product research and development activities; and working within Parliament and being tasked with championing the needs and the concerns of the constituents of an electoral district within Canada.
With his "Human-Centric" approach to problem solving at an international level, you can be confident in Jay’s demonstrable record, passion for public service and proven abilities to represent the needs and concerns of every resident of Sherwood Park-Fort Saskatchewan as your next MP; and to work with others in Parliament to get meaningful and appropriate solutions in place that will benefit YOUR lives and the lives of YOUR children and improve OUR quality of life HERE in Canada, where your tax dollars should be working for you and not foreign interests or pet projects of sitting parliamentarians.
Reason for running
Improve Economic Growth & Development, Reduce the Federal Debt, End Unsustainable Mass Immigration, Promote Our National Canadian Identity, Support Our Oil & Gas Industry, Reduce Equilization Payments, Abolish Carbon Taxes, Support Alberta Within Confederation.
Jay recognizes that Canada is drowning in federal debt; the deleterious effects of mass immigration and unvetted illegal immigration including the introduction of foreign influencers and hostile actors fomenting racism and/or using our democracy in an attempt to destroy that very same democracy; and failed state sponsored multiculturism and woke policies that together have invited social discord and civil unrest and which have divided Canadian society instead of uniting it.
Economically we remain underdeveloped and unproductive and are suffering from a federal debt of over 1.4 trillion dollars. Jay does not believe that it is fair to burden our children and grandchildren with the impact of ten years of failed Liberal policies and broken promises. For example, they have resulted in record numbers of people lined up at food banks and families unable to afford to purchase a home and/or maintain their mortgage payments because of a housing shortage, inflation, interest rates, burdensome carbon taxes and/or a shortage of suitable employment opportunities.
Ten years ago, and throughout his plagued tenure, Justin Trudeau, the former Prime Minister and leader of the Liberal Party of Canada promised to double the rate of new home construction; but he never did. And now, once again, on the eve of a federal election, Mark Carney, the new unelected Prime Minister and Leader of the Liberal Government of Canada is promising the exact same thing, to double the number of new home construction starts under his assumed tenure.
For ten years Canadian citizens have been carbon taxed upon carbon taxed to death, stifling economic growth and development and draining the bank accounts of Canadians in the purported interest of reducing carbon footprints, of which Canada's contribution is infinitesimal compared to that of other countries, but in line with global evangelical "lets prevent the impending end of the world" green policies. But now, on the eve of an election, all of a sudden that same Liberal government, in hopes of obtaining votes from the downtrodden, disheartened and disenfranchised and in order to remain in power, has suddenly abandoned its environmental evangelism and has removed the consumer carbon tax as if all of a sudden caring about the environment is no longer a sacred policy or important? Which proves once and for all that the carbon tax was simply a money grab.
Why would anyone believe anything that the Liberal Party of Canada promises?
This election is NOT about the President of the United States of America nor his fickle tendencies which are not in our control and unforeseable, and ever evolving!
Rather, this election is about Canadian Sovereignty and Economic Prosperity; whether you recognize it or not, or want to accept it or not.
Canada is a relatively young democracy. It is too bad it has taken the threats of US Tariffs to finally get Canadian politicians outside of the PPC and Canadians at large to finally wake up and take national sovereignty, security, our economy, our productivity and our financial interests seriously. But in effect this is a good thing!
We can unlock our growth and development potential by offering Canadian resources and products to global markets which will make our country more productive, stronger and wealthier. This will be accomplished for example through PPC policies documented on line since 2018-2019 conceived to remove interprovincial barriers to trade, support our oil and gas industry, remove supply management and export award winning Canadian diary products worldwide to new expanding markets, instead of folowing the practice of wasting yearly over supplies of milk by pouring them down the drain.
PPC policies will help house, feed, clothe and unite Canadians.
The People's Party of Canada and our common-sense policies have been here since 2018-2019 and PPC candidates have been waiting to represent Canadians and to put Canada first.
The Conservative Party of Canada under the failed leaderships of Andrew Scheer and Erin O'Toole was liberal lite and left of centre. Pierre Poilievre, the current Leader of the CPC, has been championing PPC policies and slogans documented on line since 2018-2019 in order to bring his party back to right of centre.
The federal Liberals and the Conservatives are now championing reducing mass immigration numbers, which when first proposed in 2018-2019 by the PPC was unjustly and incorrectly labelled as a racist approach. We take no satisfaction in being ahead of the curve by acknowledging societal problems and recognizing that they needed to be addressed immediately through our PPC policies, including removing barriers to interprovincial trade also now being championed by other parties.
No wonder the other parties do not want Maxime Bernier, the Leader of the People's Party of Canada to participate in any federal party leadership debates!
But the CPC, just like the Liberals and the NDP, support global accords (for example: The 2015 Paris Agreement and the 2017 Global Compact For Migration); championed through globalist world policies of the World Health Organization (WHO), the corrupt United Nations (UN) and the World Economic Forum (WEF) which are not in Canada's best sovereign nor economic interests. They will only serve to further yoke and burden Canadians and the economic growth and development of Canada.
Remember that World War II was the eventual outcome when a wannabe leader of the world who spoke English with a German accent like Klaus Schwabb of the WEF does advocated for his personal vision of the future and expected others to conform to it.
Why would Canadian political leaders agree to sacrifice Candian sovereignty and economic prosperity for these corrupt globalist organizations which seek to weaken the power and influence of western democracies in the interest of an emerging one world order?
It remains a privilege to be a hard working, respectful, law-abiding contributing member of a free Canadian society; with constitutional rights that are supposed to guarantee freedom of thought, freedom of lawful expression, freedom of lawful gathering, and freedom of worship. It is not everyone else's right to expect to be able to migrate here unless they can contribute to Canada's economic well being and to social cohesion.
Canadians invented the CANADARM and the AVRO ARROW. We remain a nation with intelligent, innovative and highly skilled individuals and patriots. I know first hand from working in product research, design, development and manufacturing for 35 years and from being a successful inventor myself. We know how to be sensible stewards of our environment while we move our natural resources safely and securely to satisfy emerging world markets to our collective economic benefit. We absolutely need to demonstrate and exert control over our sovereign borders and natural resources; and by doing so, prevent incursion by foreign powers.
Have the courage to vote for your PPC Candidate and to put Canada first.
We are here to help secure the future viability of Canada as a sovereign, safe and prosperous nation.
