I’m Owen Madden—small business owner, organic farmer, and Green Party candidate for Kamloops-Shuswap-Central Rockies. I'm running to support rural communities, boost local economies, and tackle the climate crisis with practical, experience-based solutions.
My journey began across the ocean in Ireland, where I worked as a lawyer, but a conversation with a farmer about the impact of climate change changed everything. I moved to Canada, worked in environmental law with Ecojustice and the Wilderness Committee, and eventually became an organic farmer.
In Grindrod, my partner and I co-founded Shuswap Organics and Nature Delivered, focusing on providing fresh, healthy, local food and helping farmers transition to climate-resilient practices. I understand firsthand the challenges rural communities face, from rising costs to the climate crisis.
Now, I’m running for office to bring that experience to Ottawa—fighting for sustainable solutions that prioritize people, local economies, and the environment. Whether it's affordable housing, improved healthcare access, or climate action, I’m committed to building a better future for all of us.
